Dr. Joan Vinall-Cox is a dynamic and creative web consultant, writing coach, and editor especially skilled at introducing people to the digital environment, as her initial reluctance gives her empathy with others who may be unenthusiastic, while her current fascination with the web’s many easy communication possibilities helps others develop their web knowledge.

As well as consulting privately with writers, including mid-teens, business people, and doctoral students, on using the web for business and academic purposes, Joan has taught in both the college and university systems. Joan also provides support for those wishing to develop their presenting skills and/or their use of online social applications.

In 2006, Joan established her consultancy, JNthWEB. She is passionately interested in how computers can be used to support business, writing and research.  She is interested in Multiple Intelligences, Attention Deficit Disorder and its connection to creativity, Jung, Campbell’s Monomyth, and arts-based Narrative Inquiry.   She has co-authored a text on report writing, has had a number of articles published in educational journals, and frequently gives presentations at conferences. She received her M. Ed from the Ontario Institute of Studies in Education, University of Toronto in 1992 and her Ph.D., focused on moving from technophobia to technophilia, in 2004. She received Sheridan’s Annual Award for Teaching Excellence in 2001.
